Mackay Regional Council
Mackay Regional Council is our local government body. We know they keep the roads, rates and rubbish running, but beyond that it’s pretty difficult to sum up everything they do. They maintain the functioning of the Mackay region and its facilities, while also cultivating the cultural, social and economic development of the region. Their work permeates every aspect of our lives, but sadly – as the old truism goes – if they’re doing their jobs well, you don’t notice them!
Several of the Rebel Nation team previously worked at council, which means we have an intimate understanding of how things work from timeframes, to budgets to office politics! It also means that we can help out easily across many different departments, turning our hand to a variety of different specialities.
Our work together has been broad, ranging from helping launch an economic development initiative and deliver a successful fishing strategy, through to providing digital marketing training for councillors, to designing collateral like the Mackay City Centre Dining Guide.
