Staying on top of marketing trends

Want to hear more? Check us out on these platforms.
Warning: our content is super addictive.

In our first episode back for 2024, Jade goes over her recommendations for how to stay on top of marketing trends. While it would be nice to have constantly be up-to-date with everything happening in the world of marketing, it’s just not possible.

Jade recommends you do the best you can across the channels that are most relevant to your business and your audience. Once you feel that you have that aspect nailed down, then you can look at expanding into new areas.

Whatever your strategy ends up being, we hope that your 2024 is off to an awesome start! We look forward to seeing you on our social feeds real soon 😉

Useful newsletters (+ other sources) that the Rebel Team uses to stay up-to-date:

Seth Godin's Blog:

Marketing, life advice and a smattering of good feels, Seth’s daily blog/newsletter is a constant source of inspiration and hope. While he may not talk about what platform is the hot new thing, his insights into the world (both marketing and beyond) will give you plenty of food for thought!

Dribble.com:

Dribble is home to a bunch of talented designers and their site is full of inspiration to get those creative gears turning. While not marketing per se, design is 100% linked and if you’re looking for inspiration, our creative director Casey recommends this site wholeheartedly.

Pretty Little Marketer:

Stretching the definition of newsletter here (LinkedIn profiles are kinda like a newsletter right??) but PLM has some interesting insights + funny marketing memes to keep us coming back. Besides, we can chalk scrolling their feed up as market research 👀

Social Media Today:

To keep up with the moving and shaking of the various social media platforms, we recommend Social Media Today. They collate news about a bunch of the different platforms and help you keep on top of whatever crazy update Facebook has done to completely re-arrange the Meta Business Suite layout.

Australian Marketing Institute:

The Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) is our peak industry body - which basically means it represents, supports and guides marketers all over the country. Their knowledge hub has everything from current events, to webinars and podcasts. A fantastic resource for anyone looking to keep up with all things marketing!

Neil Patel’s Blog:

Neil Patel has been around in the marketing space for ages. Super knowledgeable, and offers a tonne of free SEO tools to help you get the most out of your website. This is definitely one to watch!

HubSpot's Blog:

HubSpot is an industry titan and their tools can be phenomenal resources to those who can afford them. But even if you don’t use their product, HubSpot’s blog is a gold mine for industry trends, new tools and tutorials. While not everything will be relevant to what you do, it can be a good place to look for inspiration. They also do a yearly marketing trends report which can be interesting to see how people are approaching their marketing.

Wild Oats:

Last, but certainly not least, we have to plug ourselves here right? Our weekly newsletter, Wild Oats, goes over any interesting news (marketing or otherwise) that we’ve read in the last week + a sprinkle in some personal insights from our team. We may be a little biased here but we think it’s pretty cool 😉
