When you step inside the Lanai Riverside Apartments, it’s like being transported to some gorgeous coastal getaway. For as long as I can remember, there has been one woman managing the building and she wears so many hats – I’m not sure how she does it! Lucky for us, she did find a few moments to sit down and get grilled for our Directors’ Circle.
Who is your hero and why?
Those people living on the land, struggling to keep stock alive and providing an existence for themselves because they truly are the backbone of our country. These are humble, genuine country people that would give you the shirt off their backs when needed, and are there when the chips are down to lend a mate a hand and expect nothing in return.
What do you consider the key to success?
Determination, sheer hard work and not be afraid of giving it your best shot because at the end of the day, you can stand back and be proud of what you have achieved. And not being afraid to step outside your comfort zone every once in a while – that’s the magic in learning.
What is your top productivity tip?
Write a list daily and tackle the worst job first as anything after that will be a breeze. And allocate 25% more time to each task, as it’s easy to get side-tracked with other matters that command priority, particularly in a business environment. Also surround yourself with positive people, as their enthusiasm with drive your motivation to new levels.

What is the best advice you have received recently?
Don’t allow negativity to influence how we react to a situation. Take a deep breath and sleep on it before responding, as the sun always rises in the morning heralding the start of a new, positive day.
