This week on Marketing + Margaritas, Jade goes over one of the best passive ways to build credibility for your business. Google, for better or worse, has the monopoly when it comes to searching for things online. Therefore, it’s important to make sure your business displays properly when people look you up.

This is where your Google Business profile comes in. It’s the little box that shows up (if you’ve set it up) to the right of search results when your business name is googled. It has all of your business deets + a spot for people to leave you reviews (which everyone who searches for you can then see!).

In the episode, Jade got her links backwards, it’s business.google.com so be sure to check that out if you want to set up your profile!

If a Google Business profile already exists for your business, but you’re not sure if it’s yours, check out the soundbite episode we did on how to claim ownership of it here.

Lastly, James from Cloud Three had an awesome tip for getting more Google reviews. When a job finishes, James sends out an email to clients that mentions what he liked about working with them on the job and asks them what they liked. This makes asking for a testimonial way easier than cold calling a client 3 months after you’ve finished working for them and you’ll often get some really cool responses!

If you liked that tip, be sure to check out the full episode here!
